Has anyone tried vending software for keeping track of your business? If so what brand and how do you like it?

Thanks.

Jake

Jake,

Yes. Several years ago, I got into the vending business with my dad. We tried a couple of software programs, before deciding that none of them really fit what we were looking for. That's when I decided to build a custom one for us to use. I've since put that program online and opened it up for others to subscribe to. We call it Vend-Trak and you can get to it at www.vend-trak.com. You can see a live demo of a fictional vending operation and sign up for a two month free trial to see if it works for you.

Best of luck!

What is a good software package?

I have Quick Books & Vend Magic for business software. They each have good features but I am still looking for a more inclusive software package designed for a vending business. Too time consuming transfering info from one to the other.

I started using spread sheets and tried a package called Business Pluss that just doe not work for me.

Thanks,
Leo.

Leo,

As the founder and creator, I am certainly biased! But I'd suggest Vend-Trak to you (www.Vend-Trak.com). I developed Vend-Trak over three years ago because I was looking for the same thing when I got into the vending business with my father. You can see a live demo by going to www.vend-trak.com and clicking on the Live Demo picture on the right side. You can also create a new account and try us at no cost or obligation for two months. If you like us, continue your membership. If you don't think it suits your needs, just walk away. Whatever you end up using, I wish you the best of luck!

Happy Vending!

See thats the thing I am only going to have 1 snack machine 1 can soda machine and one food and bottle combo machine so it wouldnt be that difficult for me to track I just need to software to keep track of it. Im going to make one I guess and I will put it on here when I get it doen. Thats something else pretty cool with vendiscuss.com they have a section of useful files that people can download and try out. Anyways I guess if no one uses anything like this I will just have to try an build my own.

Thanks,

Bass,

I was in the same boat you were in a little over three years ago. I did end up building my own system (in Access). Eventually I put it online (even though my dad and I were the only "users"). You can read the whole story at http://www.vend-trak...m/2.0/about.asp (if you just have nothing else to do!) :) Anyway, since then we've opened it to other users, added many features, and migrated to a more robust database. It's not a free system, but there is a two-month free trial. We've grown to several hundred users with basically no advertising, and the vast majority have found Vend-Trak easy to use and useful (not to mention, you'll save a lot of headache trying to re-invent the wheel). Vend-Trak works with bulk, soda, and snack machines. It tracks locations, services, inventory, expenses, mileage, and provides reporting features. You can give the free trial a shot by going to www.vend-trak.com and creating a new account or you can go to the site and click the "Live Demo" picture (on the right side) to see an example company's information.

Please let me know your experience, thoughts, suggestions, etc.
