I have Oreo cookies. They do very well. They sell better than some of my candies. They do better among blue collar and among minorities.

I have 10 of these Genesis machines. Everyone of them is an absolute pile of steaming crap. I have replaced the coin val in every one, I have replace the coin changer on at least 6 of them and the refrigeration unit on 2 of them. All those replacements were just in the first 8 months of ownership. I have been trying to sell them off (@ a 1/3 of the price I bought them for) before the 1 year warranty is up.

Whatever you do, don't buy Genesis.

Sincerely,

Agee,

Yes, I got some feedback on it. They said it had nothing to do with my service or price. I only had one store in a chain of 7 in the metroplex. The only reason I lost the account is because coke talked to the right person and put the whole chain under contract. The location I had was in a very bad area (unsafe), and I had been considering giving it up just because of that; but to get kicked out by Coke just isn't right. I guess that's business though. I did not have a contract with them. Which is something I will do next time.

What do you know about contracts? What are some standard items that need to be in a vending contract?

Sincerely,

In Topic: Cashless Vending (not credit cards)...

Agee,

That is very good news! Thank you for sharing that. Do you know what kind of location that was? (school, industry, office, ect?) The people I have talked to said that cashless (debit/credit cards) vending seems to work best around white collar and around locations with a younger age range (colleges), so I am interested to know what kind of location your friend had.

I called USA Technologies today and they told me that to get their credit/debit reader that it was $289.00. Then it was $9.95/mo for the service and 5% transaction fee. They said your machine has to have MDB capabilities and DEX. Their service is also cool because it will post what has sold (both credit and cash sales) on a website. So you also are getting remote monitoring. This seems to be way more affordable than Microtronics stuff.

Microtronics wants $479.00 per unit and then they want $2,800 for a smartcard charging station (You can use your debit card to charge your smartcard, or you can use cash) and then they their monthly fee + a 3% transaction fee.

Can you provide more info on the merchant account you were talking about? (website?)

Thanks!

Sincerely,
