In Topic: Healthy You/Seaga Machines

We had a pretty good sized account that demanded a 2BU (Healthy) Machine. So we dropped a $5500 refrigerated machine there next to the regular snack machine, filled it with organic/gluten free products and for the last 12 months, its averaged a lousy $28 per week.  The regular snack machine does 150-175 a week.  But with the other 16 machines in other places of the complex doing close to 2K a week, we'll just have to deal with it to keep em happy.

However, we have a few YMCA's that went healthy a couple years ago and the machines still do good, even though they made us pull the ice cream machines which hurt.  In a corporate place or a factory, trying to go healthy is a waste of time.  Usually the people bugging us and making decisions for the entire company they work for, don't even use the machines anyway.  If you specificly gonna do "healthy vending", its a big risk.

Also, those Seaga machines are not worth the $.  We had a couple from a small acquisition, and they cant compare to AP Or National- and AZ's right about getting parts.  I would buy a used machine from craigslist, but not from some guy in his garage hows "not sure" about how it works.

We currently use Vendmax in our handhelds, its takes a few visits to get a good average - but if your pars and capacities are accurate - it works out good.

If the estimates are off, it knows and adjusts for the next visit.  It shows your average daily sales for each item and tells you how many of each you left on your last visit.  So when you see your "last" numbers and new numbers - you can adjust your pars to go with what moves.  Eventually, you can run in and "Throw And Go"

In the old days with cards, I did a 9K/week route in 50 hours. Currently I do 13K/week in 45 hours.  Those one trips make a big difference at some stops, and not so much at the small stops.

It can save enough time where they will get rid of a driver, and split up his route with the other drivers to save a salary.  Which is what happened twice here, I'm still hangin on.

In Topic: Vendo 407 (?) MAKA NB-15 Bill Validator quit

Maka is quite old nowadays, we just throw em out.  There is however a service on ebay that refurbishes them for only $40, and they pay for the shipping.  Copy and past this number into Ebays search engine 301072545209 to check it out.  They sell old maka's for over 100 bucks which is crazy because they are scrap metal.  Everythings 24V now.  also do an ebay search for

"mars 110V".  I have some could sell for $85 Shipped. also coinco 110v for 65 shipped.  rualst@yahoo.com

Cant make money if you cant take money!
