I presume what you mean is you want the coin mech to inventory the dollar coins.  This will make sense if you plan on having several prices over $1 and have a $5 capable bill validator.

AZ

Yes I need the coin mech to stack the dollar coin and then pay out as change when $5 bill is used.  I have MDB changers with 4 and 5 tube capacity that can be configured for the dollar coin, but they are all MDB 32v.

Ebay has some VN4000 for $150 and up.  I'll need to see if the expense is justified considering the 4000 is out of production and repair parts may not be available at a resonable cost.

Nice chatting with you.

Thanks AZ,

The reason for the MDB is so I can upgrade the coin changer to use dollar coins.

I'm having alignment issues on the trays and getting tired fooling with it.

Did you try pushing and holding the door button to see if the light stays on?

The machine has a Mars VN-2511 validator in it. Currently the LED is blinking 5 times over and over which I realize means the magazine is removed... but it is actually on. I can take it on and off, makes no difference in the error. If I unplug the validator and plug it back in, it will blink 4 times (cross channel blocked) once, then it goes to blinking 5 times over and over.

I have pulled it apart the best I can in the machine. Everything appears to be normal and nothing is in it or blocking any paths that I can tell. It runs briefly (startup) after plugging it back in and then the error codes start blinking.

Curious if anyone has any suggestions... or is it just toast and should I go ahead and replace it?

Is the $270 per modem per machine? How is the information sent to your receiving unit?

Ruskie, I forgot to mention that if your machine is DEX ready, the modem cost is around $270. Should you need to upgrade your machine to DEX capable, there will be additional costs. www.inonetechnology.com

$6.00 per month for the report, is there a monthly monitoring fee?

There is softwarte/hardware available to give you remote access to your machine. This way you can determine your need to service or not. It will also give you a per selection report of sales so you can see what is actually selling and then determine par levels. What type machines you are vending will determine if they are DEX ready or not. If so I would say that is the easiest way to track sales. We use InOne Technologies Arrow Vision hardware/software. Runs us $6/month per machine to have machines report 4 times a day to us. For a few $$ more you can get real time reports. We just don't see the need.
