In Topic: What do you put in your machines?

19 December 2008 - 07:05 AM

Of course some things vary from location to location. But for us there are 5 must haves in every machine
Snickers, M&M Peanut, Some kind of Pretzels, Cheese its and Mt. Dew
Those are my 4 top selling snacks and my top selling soft drink.
With 10 people working in the warehouse if it was me I would ditch one of the Gatorades and add MT Dew.
I also believe it is not enough to look at the number of people but also thier average age. If you have a bunch of early 20s working in the warehouse MT DEW and an Energy drink aka (Monster, Red Bull etc) is what I would be wanting to put in.
Then again if you had to agree to the above list to get the account you can start out with that line up and gratually make changes as people start asking for other things.

Thanks for the input. The machine I am placing is a combo machine that has 10 big spirals, 9 small spirals, three 12 oz. cans, one .5 L water or 8 oz red bull, and two 20 oz gatorade. I did get the surveys back and they requested red bull over water and the gatorade as well as some zone bars and granola.

I will see how things sell and change what doesn't. This is the first machine I have placed so I bought the combo packs from sams to get a variety of chips and candy (the hershey's combo). I just couldn't see buying a case of one thing and only being able to put 10 of each flavor and have all that stock left over. When I get a few more placed I can start buying single flavors by the case.

Thanks again for the ideas!

You may also see if he's willing to accept a down payment and pay the rest off in a month (or more). This will at least keep him honest and you won't be as far into it if he is not being totally honest. However on the surface it does sound like a good deal.

Thanks for the input. I can't even get the guy to call me back on our appointment time. maybe he sold it to someone else, who really knows.

But thanks again for the input. I do want to get started but being new I am hesitant to make the investment without a location. How did you guys get started? Locations first or machines first?

Find out what his prices are set at. The numbers look good, but you need to make sure that his prices are set right.

I am meeting with the individual in the next two days to see the machines and locations. What do you mean by the prices set right? What is a standard profit margin? I will be buying my snacks and drinks at Sams.

In Topic: Prospecting Letter

newguy,

I have had several small accounts in the past and I am just now sending out prospecting letters to get some of the large warehouse locations in my area. I have not heard back from any yet (I only sent them out last week), but I will keep you posted.

Sincerely,
~HooseFoose~

Thanks for the reply. I am curious to hear how it goes.
