I was wondering, what is the most prevalent current glass front cold drink vending machine in your area? Is it the Dixie-Narco BevMax 4, Vendo Vue, or Royal Vision?
Here in the Phoenix area, the D-N BevMax 4 reigns supreme. The local Pepsi bottler is phasing out the Vendo Vue and buying mostly D-N BevMax 4s for their new glass front purchases, and Coke is also buying the D-N BevMax 4 for most new glass front purchases around here.
Oddly, while the BevMax 4 currently dominates here, the BevMax 2 and 3 seem to be rarer than the Vendo Vue and Royal Vision.

Rumor: Pepsi Bottling Group of Phoenix, Arizona eliminating Vendo Vue
15 November 2011 - 09:46 AM
Recently, I was told by a Pepsi vending machine repairman that that Pepsi Bottling Group of Phoenix, Arizona plans on eliminating the Vendo Vue from their lineup, due to many issues with them. I don't know how reliable was his info, however, he seemed to know a lot about Pepsi's machines here.
Most of Pepsi's recent glass front purchases here in Arizona have been for the Dixie-Narco BevMax 4, so I'm not surprised that they are giving Vendo the boot for glass front machines. Still, for conventional stack machines, Vendo seems to outnumber Dixie-Narco for Pepsi here in Arizona. Pepsi does not carry any Royal machines in the Phoenix area.
I think this says a lot about the superiority of the D-N BevMax 4 over the Vendo Vue.

Poll - Which manufacturer should get the Pepsi Social Vending Machine contract?
27 October 2011 - 09:49 PM
I am sure some people have heard about Pepsi's upcoming touchscreen Social Vending Machine. However, I haven't heard anything yet about who will make them.
I hope it is Dixie-Narco. I am pretty sure it will be an exclusive one-supplier contract, considering Coke has an exclusive contract with Royal for their touchscreen vending machine. I expect that it will mostly be a battle between either Dixie-Narco or Vendo, considering the rarity of Pepsi machines made by Royal as well as the fact that Royal has Coke's contract. Pepsi bottlers in the eastern U.S. seem to have a preference for Dixie-Narco while Pepsi bottlers in the western U.S. seem to have a preference for Vendo (although I have seen a few Dixie-Narco machines recently including some BevMax 4s). However, I still included Royal in my poll.

Pepsi Social Touchscreen Vending Machine - who will make them?
10 September 2011 - 09:28 PM
If anyone has heard, Pepsi plans on introducing a new touchscreen vending machine known as the Pepsi Social.
I was wondering, does anyone know who will be the manufacturer of this new machine? I would presume it would either be Dixie-Narco or Vendo, since Royal already has Coke's touchscreen vending machine contract.
It seems that most Pepsi bottlers in the eastern U.S. are loyal to Dixie-Narco, while those in the western U.S. seem to have a preference for Vendo. I wonder if there will be some arguing between different bottlers on the manufacturer of these machines.

Old Dixie-Narco machine retrofitted with LED digital display?
03 September 2011 - 08:21 PM
Today, at a car dealership, I saw an old Dixie-Narco machine with the squarish buttons in a 4x2 layout, and noticed that it was modded with an LED digutal display in place of where the red "Use Exact Change" light would normally be located; a small round LED to indicate exact change was added to its side.
I wonder, has anyone seen something like that before? If so, who is the manufacturer of such retrofit kits?
