I'm new to the vending world, but I've been all throughout this sub-forum reading all the post which are related to my situation. I've gained a wealth of information on this site, which at first almost lead me to cancel all of my vending plans, but eventually and surely got me back on the vending track with a better understanding.

I have two small home-based businesses which only demands a few hours a day. I'm looking to add additional revenue. I'm wanting to place a refurb Dixie-Narco machine in the office/common area of the apartment complex I reside in. The 315-unit complex is in a very nice neighborhood w/ 5-12 workers. The area next to the office contains a small workout room, laundry, movie theater, swimming pool etc...

As of now the only machines I've seen that seem decent and fairly priced are:

I would appreciate any opinions on these.

Also,

Is insurance necessary for just one machine?
Any tips on getting vending repair experience? I'm willing to work as an apprentice for free for about a weeks time. I'm in GA, but I'll travel if I can get some experience.
I know summer is the best season for vending, but how bad is the fall and winter? I plan to buy a machine within a month or so.
