Coke and Pepsi are not phasing out cans, just can machines. They are doing this for several reasons such as:
1. They make more $ on the bottles than they do on the cans.
2. You have to buy the 20 oz bottles from them exclusively because you cant get them in stores.
3. To keep vendors from buying the soda from stores where they can get them cheaper than if they bought them directly from Coke or Pepsi.
