To simply answer your question NO dont buy does machines.
Vendstar machines are all plastics very cheaply made and easily break you can find them in bulk for around 50 bucks a piece.

This is my first post here but I can help you out.
Typically you try to vend as close as to .5oz per quater.
So basically if you have a 56oz bag of candy divide by 2 (56/2=28) $28 would be your gross sales $28-(what ever the candy cost)= Profit

P.S I forgot lose the M&Ms they are very exensive replace with gumballs or chiclets
