I am about to buy a vending machine and location in Austin, Texas. I found some posts online which talked about the drop off in sales from soda vending machines in the winter. Makes sense to me.
Could experienced vending machine owners please advise me on:
1. Should I invest in a snack machine? Or a soda machine? Is it true that the sales from a snack machine are more steady than a soda machine?
2. What are the differences in construction / internal mechanism between a soda machine and a snack machine? Is it safe to assume that since snack machines do not need intensive cooling as such, that maintenance is easier on a snack machine than on a soda machine?
I would deeply appreciate any input you could give me.
1. Buy a single used soda vending machine or snack / soda combination machine.
2. Buy either an existing location from an owner, or,
3. Buy the services of a good locator to place my machine in a high-traffic location.
4. Use the services of a good supplier to ensure my machine is always stocked.
I also need some know-how, tips and how-tos.
1. Could anyone recommend a good locator service in Austin, Texas? Also, a supplier service? I have checked online and posted on Craigslist, but was hoping to also get lucky with some local recommendations.
2. Could someone give me an estimate on how much it costs per month to use a supplier service to stock a snack / vending machine?
3. Could someone give me an estimate on how much it costs per month to retain a maintenance contract to maintain / upkeep the machines?
4. Is it safer to buy a brand new machine under warranty or to buy a used machine and use a maintenance person for upkeep?
