Buying a Route-Value of Third Party Vendor Income

20 August 2010 - 02:23 PM

When buying an existing route should give any value to the income generate by machines that are third-party (owned by Coke or Pepsi)? Does Coke or Pepsi frequently take these machines back or give them to another vendor? Do you have a contract with them? What are any other pitfalls to third-party vending being up to 50% of your route?

Thanks

Buying An Existing Vending Business

17 August 2010 - 08:12 PM

I am looking at an opportunity to get into snack and soda vending by purchasing an existing business in the town I live in. There are 50 machines total, split just about equally between third party vendor machines and those owned by the business. Machines are in good condition with some in really good locations, some in good only locations and some in OK locations. Gross Sales for the past three years have averaged $80,000. Machine and other assets total $30,000 in value. Asking price is $46,000 but I can get it for less, how much less I don't know yet, as seller is motivated due to moving out of area.

Any thoughts, suggestions, questions, etc. by those with experience will be greatly appreciated.
