My first thought would be that its dangerous having that much money sitting in the machines. People might get it into their heads to steal some by vandalising the machine.

Second, the hassle involved with preparing those envelopes would be a lot.

Third, my recomendation would be if you have MDB machines, then get the Mars CF-7512 coin changer with 3 quarter tubes, and you should be good. Three tubes of quarters should last a week easy. If your machines aren't MDB, there is a kit you can get that makes them MDB for about $180-$200 a machine. Its some money to put down, yes, but its cheaper than a recycler, and you will avoid the hassle and dangers of having that much money on display in each machine.

The CF-7512 can be bought on eBay for about $140-$150 each refurbished.

Glad you got it. I remember it took me a while to figure out that you had to lift them up when I had to replace my first one.

Because a coin mech goes bad, doesn't mean that something blew it up. The same goes for a control board. Those things can just fail... I'd rather take parts to the machine and fix it right away, then waiting two weeks trying to find out if the machine blew out a component.

Yes, On the validator. 90% of the problems with the MEI series 2000 validator is that capacitor. It is a 470mfd +or- 10% and it must be in that range. If you buy a capacitor checker and learn how to change that cap you will save your self 100's of dollars. The capacitance of that capacitor effects the correct operation of the validator. Even if you don't have a cap checker its worth the .69 to change the cap. Just a thought.
