In the $1000 range you should shoot for an AP 7600, and can get a reasonable one for $700. It is a large unit and if you need something smaller try an AP 6600 (4 wide) and they usually run about $100 more. If you search around you might get the next version AP 112/113 for about $1000 if you are really lucky. Shoot for 8% commissions because the margins are narrowing.
Call Vendors Exchange and ask for an advanced replacement. It's a pricier option but when the refurb arrives you can plug it in, test it out and send the bad board back. In an AP 113 I've replaced the male portion of the plug on the back of the tray, its a pain in the ass. Also check to make sure the shelves line up from left to right, you may have never noticed it but the one side may be set lower than the other. I fixed a National last week with the same problem.
Anyone know what is going on when a Rowe 648 door shuts, light bulbs blink and then the display goes blank. I have to get back into the machine and reset the power switch. Thing the transformer isn't pushing enough voltage to start the lights and operate the machine?
