In Topic: How much to pay for route?

06 June 2008 - 06:10 PM

I've already factored the price per machine. When a machine is on locations, how much do you pay for that? 6 months of gross or net? 1 years worth?

I can't seem to find the answer anywhere else.

Thanks,

Michael

I use 75% of years gross and work from there.

In Topic: What are your thoughts?

I have a location with a snack and pop. Both are located indoors. Typically they are one of my better accounts but I just noticed a couple of weeks ago that they added a new pop machine outside. My machine sells cans, the new one sells bottles. I asked the owner about it and he said he had it placed because he wanted Gatorade products (which I could have offered if he had asked) and some song-and-dance about being closer to some of his employees so they didn't leave the grounds to go for bottles somewhere else. I am tempted to pull my machines out as I have a better location which looks like it will be coming through soon. My problem is that the current location is one of my better ones, historically. He gets a kickback which I would think implies exclusivity for me. What do you guys think? In your experience, do you think he's up to something? I haven't been able to determine quite yet the impact the new machine has had on my sales.

Sounds like the owner is trying to get in the action. This is a no, no!! Good luck.

In Topic: Chip Brands

I know of a company near me (not really competition though) that has switched brands. I would just do it for the corn chips, plain and BBQ potato chips. I will be picking up the Herrs BBQ corn chips today and give them a try.

Frito Lay unfortunately owns the market out there. I do however rotate my stock and have alot of success with diff brands. Customers are always looking to try something new and this how to market your business. Having said this, they let me know what their preferences are and I always accomodate even if it means pulling a product out.

In Topic: Programing problem

13 May 2008 - 09:38 AM

I have a Vendo V-480-P. I am trying to decipher the Space to Sales feature and for the life of me I Don't Get It.

I want to program columns 1,2,3,&10 together so no matter which of those buttons you push you get a drink from the next column in the line and the stock is self-rotating. I also want to combine column 4 & 9.

I keep reading the programming schedule but I can't seem to get it right. (Somehow I did get column 1 & 2 connected but that seems to be a flukebecause I can't get the rest of it) .

Can anyone explain to me in simple English how to do this.

Thanks,

Perplexed Ted

You can call Vendo direct or go to their web site and download the manual. They are based out of Texas.

In Topic: Changing the Vending Machine Price

Not just the tech Vendo is a terrible company to deal with. I bought my first glass front, vendo vue 30, and have replaced everything at least twice. It breaks constantly. Not a good machine for $4000 and they wouldnt make it right by buying it back within the first 6 months of me having it.I will never buy a vendo again that is for sure

Sorry to hear that. I have many vendos and all work great and are reliable. I have a live display v-max that has grossed almost $100k in sales in 3 yrs and has never broke down other than changing bill and coin mechanisms. The motors are all original. However, do agree with poor tech support in general.
