"bottle cap remover" ...what the hell did u buy exactly? does it even take cans? can you post a pic of it?
Ha! It's an oldie (but a goodie... I hope) I couldn't figure out how to upload a photo straight to this page so I have it off my Picasa.

Yes it does take cans (170 of them over 5 selections) It's a Dixie Narco 170/100-5 I haven't been able to find much information on them online so I'm thinking they're somewhat uncommon (or at least not frequently discussed).

You can add a validator where the bottle opener is but you may not have enough back clearance with the inner door. Depending on which vali you use there are options on how to resolve that issue. The problem here is the cost in upgrading far excedes the approximate value of the machine. If you have the Coinmech, Vali, Front bezel and Harness spare laying around thats ok. But full retail new will cost 650.00, Used 350.00 when you can just replace the S75 for 50.00 or repair yours. just a thought.

Yeah that was my concern as well - it was just a nice proximity to the coin mech and there was already a hole. I picked up a TRC6800 for 60 and am talking with someone who has two dollar validators he'll sell me for 20/each. If it'll fit it should only put me back $80 & my time (and maybe some misc hardware) to get it set up with a validator. First things first, I am gonna grab some measurements from my existing one and see if it'll fit.

Concerning the placement... I'm going to really push the "vintage" and hope that's enough to make it cool. I have a dream of getting it placed at a consignment / antique shop downtown, but we'll see if that ever materializes.
And yeah, they're Mag50s so it's a hell of a deal just waiting to get my hands on them

None taken - it's definitely been a learning experience and the further I get into this machine the more I'm realizing it's a lesson too
I'm just gonna keep thinking positive thoughts about this machine and hopefully it'll rub off.

Another thing to do is to not do anything (spend money) until you spend a few months on this forum (and possibly others) and do a ton of research. Just start reading different post and dig through the information. Ask questions and read, read, read, all the info on these forums. I see so many people spend money on stuff they shouldnt and waste so much time, energy, money, etc in the begining. If they just would have done more research they would get so much more accomplished for so much cheaper.
Vending is a great way to have your own business. While it is much cheaper than a lot of businesses that you could start it still can be expensive. You need to be able to save all you can and one of the cheapest ways to do that is to do reserach because it is free other than your time. The more you save the more you can invest in making you money.
I just set up a 30k a year account Saturday with around $1000 total dollars invested in equipment. I did this because of knowledge and contacts. You can do the same thing if you do the research.
FREE ADVICE, take that drink machine to one of those "antique stores" you were talking about and sell it. Or take it to the metal scrap yard and sell it. It is NOT worth putting out to try and make money with it. It should be worth something to a collector considering Noah might have used it for a anchor.
Again please dont think I am being ugly with you because I am not. I just hate to see people do these things in vending and never really get a fair chance at making some money at it.
