I was wondering if anyone could give me an idea of how long it takes to fill a soda and a snack machine including cleaning the machine etc.

Also,How many machines on average can 1 person service in a day.

Thanks

Brad

I think it depends solely on how much of those machines you need to stock up. If you are letting the machines get pretty empty before stocking, obviously it takes much longer to service that location. If you visit more often to keep them better stocked, it takes less times, but more trips. On most of my locations that have a pop and snack, and a moderately low machine, I can get out most times in about 20 minutes or so (30 tops).

I agree with bcron, it varies too much by location. I track my preformance by $'s. I try to average $100 an hour in sales. This includes travel time and all. So if I work 8 hours I should have $800 in the money bags. I think that you could do more than this if your locations are close, and all big locations.

The number of machines doesn't really matter. Its volume that matters. I could service 200 full size machines if I only went every two weeks and averaged $20 per machine, but it wouldn't be smart or efficient. Using the $100 an hour that I threw out above, $4000 a week would be about it on a 40 hour week for one person (you could probably add another 10 hours to that for paper work, counting and bank trips). $4000 a week could be 45 machines for some, or 100 machines for others depending on how you build your route and the types of locations you service.

Hope this helps.

Its relaly hard to judge our guys because each side of town is differnt, if they do alot of snacks it takes longer, if mostly drinks they fly through it. One thing I try to do is get about 20 soda and 12-15 snacks a day. Each truck usually runs about 70-80 cases a day of cans and bottles. If they do one side of town that has extremely high flow of product between 2 accounts, they wont get to but 25 machines in the whole day.

My best driver leaves at 7 in the morning and finishes at 4(dosnt take a lunch) We usually dont have more then 3 machines in an account, but alot of our accounts are next door to each other which helps the time alot. I know thats not going to be the same for everyone but thats our situation.
