I have an old (I assume) v475. I bought it for cheap and it has worked great for 3 years now. Recently I had a problem with the Coinco BA30B bill exchanger. It basically had a flashing LED which said to have it serviced. I tried to service it myself with no luck so I bought a refurbished unit. I put the refurbished unit in and now the machine will take bills and change but it will not dispense.

Price is set at 75 cents. If you put 50 cents in you can hit the coin return button and get your 50 cents back. If you put a dollar in it gives 25 cents back as change. The "use exact change" light, lights up when you put a dollar in the bill exchanger or when you put 75 cents in coins in. I think it used to do this when it dispensed product. So it is like it thinks it is dispensing product but it is not actually doing it.

Any help or suggestions would be great. I check the Vendo website but it looks like they no longer support the V475.

The machine worked perfectly before. Even when the bill exchanger had failed and been in service/error/repair mode the coin exchanger worked fine and it would dispense product with coins just not obviously with bills.

To make sure I have everything hooked up correctly... on the "brain" of the bill exchanger there are to sets of plugs, one small one with I think 4 pins and then a larger one with maybe 10 (complete guess) pins. I only have the 10-pin harness connected for I don't see anything to put in the 4-pin and I cannot remember if there was one. I assume no since I can't find anything.

I also check the relay which is a "Potter Brumfield" "KU-4156" (120v 50/60hz) 353343. I had an issue earlier where that came undone and it didn't dispense, I taped it to the harness and it worked fine. My issue is that the light kicks on like it is dispensing but it doesn't release product. If I unplug the relay it won't accept money so I assume the relay is fine. Maybe it is worth replacing for I think it is a cheap part.

Thanks

Sounds like your missing a cable. If you coin mech has a 9-pin connector, then you have to get a plug that plugs into that 9-pin connector and then you plug that into the machine. There is a 4-pin connector coming off that. You might want to check the bill acceptor you had... it should have a cable on it... you can swap that with the cable on the new bill accepter if its MDB

I had that happen in my Dixie Narco,I had to replace the coin mech, it wasn't sending a signal to the relay to trigger a vend. The reason it will give back the 50 cents is because it hasn't reached the vend price yet, once it reaches vend price it forces the customer to make a selection. The 4 pin plug is actually for a 24 volt plug, you don't use it.
