a free soda may just be that the credit has not been taken off from someone that has lost their
money before them. What I have seen is that a column does not have all the spacers in place or might
be the wrong ones (cans or bottles). If someone got two once check the motor settings and the switch
to make sure that the motor is stopping at the right time. I also have seen the motor drive
shaft pin connecting it to the cradle sheered off just enough that sometimes it will work and
others it won't. Hope this helps.

I recently bought a Dixie Narco 348 pop machine. It's been dispensing fine for about 2 weeks now and all of a sudden sometimes it won't accept money and if you push a button it will give you a free pop. Also one employee put money in, pushed a dispense button and when nothing happened right away he pushed it again. He got two pops. Before I start studying the print any suggestions?
jyarosz, you might try describing your problem to the guys over at www.Vending-LA.com/Vend-Forums that is just the kind of repair problem they are good at answering, and it's free!

sounds like your cam setting is set for bottles and not cans, i would bet dollars to donuts that is the problem described above. Also one employee put money in, pushed a dispense button and when nothing happened right away he pushed it again. He got two pops.
as for not accepting money it may need a new coin mech, sometimes that happens i pull the mech out and clean the coin path in the acceptor area real good with alcohol if that doesnt work i send it out to be rebuilt always good to have a spare tested mech or two around the house in case you have that issue.

This is a typical problem(s) with the machine. It is probably nothing more than a stuck brake on a vend motor. There are mulitiple other things that can cause same problems but motor brake is the most common. It won't take money and free vends because a vend complete signal hasn't been sent. I really suck at model #'s because I work on 100's of different machines with different upgrades and such which are only common to certain serial #'s that I am not privey to. All dixie narcos work the same according to era. So alittle extra info helps. How many selections? Is it always the same selection free vending? Is it a double wide or single wide column? Are the buttons on the front across the middle or down the side? If you can give me this info I can tell you some small tests to determine where to start looking.Just a thought.I recently bought a Dixie Narco 348 pop machine.
