There are many ways to calculate commissions. The generally accepted method is a %age of gross sales after deducting sales taxes, if applicable.

In my area 10% is the norm in a typical account, 20-30% in a hotel/motel situation.

[For The Kids Vending]

Both my locations didn't ask for a commission and I didn't suggest it. Results may vary but if it is a smaller account it shouldn't be too hard to get out of it. If you are doing a mall or a school then you bet you'll be paying it.
