I've never owned a snack machine of any size before, and I saw a table top snack machine advertised for sale locally. I haven't looked at it yet, so I don't know what brand it is, but in the photo it looked to be in decent condition. I was wondering if anybody could recommend some good locations that machines of this size perform well at.

These type machines are very limited in what type of account you can put them in. You would be looking at Dr.'s office, barber shop, beauty salon, tanning bed facility and similar accounts. You are probably only looking at around $20 to $30 a week (max) in gross revenue before cost of goods.

This is not the way to start in vending in my opinion. If it is start up cost that is an issue you might want to look at honor box vending because the boxes can be bought for around $6.00 each. 5 to 10 well located boxes will bring in more money than your one table top vending machine. Also with some of those machines it is hard to change the price and parts can be hard to get.

If start up cost is not to much of a concern then I would recommend looking at a used full size snack machine for around $500 or less.

Does anybody sell small quantities of honor boxes? I did a search on the internet the places I found want to sell huge lots of them. The price per box is affordable, but I would only want to start with maybe three or five; not 50 or 100. Do you have any recommendations? Also, what varieties of honor boxes do you recommend starting with? I see that there are the kind that you put small hard candies in, and then there are larger ones for things like chips and candy bars. I'm intrigued by the honor box idea, but don't know much about them or what good products are to stock them with.

cameronpackaging.com will sell 1 single snack honor box or 10 i use them and buy in lots of 10. i do snack boxes i put about 30 items in the box all the typical thing you get from a snack machine. so far i only lost money in a few locations out of 25 the bad locations are generally just too slow not as much theft as you would expect.

a family member of mine sold the bulk candy honor boxes back in the early 1990s as a biz op, i asked him recently about it he said that was the most succesful biz op he ever sold, people kept ordering more and more and did very well, one group of guys in miami worked it very wellhad hundreds of boxes out 1 guy located full time and the other 2 serviced full time they claimed to be pulling in about a grand a week each doing that. they used charity affiliastion through the national federation of the blind.

i do not do any charity affiliation , i sell all items for $1 and do not locate boxes anywhere near the customers

i am about to pull and re-located about a quarter of my accounts from what ive heard a lot of honor box vendors will keep slow accounts because its so easy to service and rotate product but my good accounts are so profitable its not worth it to me to bother with the slow ones
