Hey Mike,

Whew, your post is all over the place  . We will need some basic information to be able to help.

-Did the column work before you moved the shims around?
-What relay did you swap?
-You say it reads try another selection. is this on a digital display? If so we will need the type of board used in the machine.
-How did you test vend it? What worked when you test vended?

Do you have the back spacer shim set right so the cans push the sold out switch? Just a thought.

Also check and see if the first can didn't get hung under the sold out switch. On newer can bottle machines the sold out lever can get hung on the can when you load the first row. You have to make sure the lever gets pushed when starting that first row with cans bottles are not a problem. Just another thought.

If it worked before you changed the shimming we will have to assume it was shimmed wrong. Do you have other columns that are shimmed for cans that you can compare it with? Did you check the rear spacer like vend1ng mentioned? This could be an easy thing to miss when changing things around. The sold out lever will need to be made and then the interlock switch will need to be tripped to reset the sold out condition. Try emptying the column, taping the sold out lever down, close the door and make a vend. See if you hear the motor run or if you still get an error.
