I've got a problem with my DN600E. It sometimes displays "try another selection" and will not take money (bills or coin). When I open the inner door I notice that the bill acceptor is flashing the code for being disconnected (even when holding in the inner door switch). I've ran diagostics to operate and test everything and everything is good. I've checked the inner door switch and it is good. When I exit diagnostics it will work sometimes, but sometimes it won't. Tonight I did a motor test (which has also worked to fix the problem), but not this time, unplugged the machine, nope not yet, tested the bill acceptor, ok it's good, wiggeled wire harnesses around, nothing, then I pushed the button at the base of the bill acceptor (to set coupon), inserted a bill, it showed a dollar on the display, then I pressed a button to vend and it worked. It is now working, but for how long I don't know. It acts like there is a bad connection somewhere, but know i'm wondering if it's just being 'mental' and will only work if someone messes around with it's innards on occasion. I'm also wondering if thats why I got this machine for a couple of dollars.
If anyone can help me out here, please do. Thanks.

I try to be as much help as possible, but I don't overreach my limits. I am far more knowledgeable with snack machines, and don't know a whole lot about soda. I would say try the coin mech. One universal problem when the validator flashes disconnected, is the changer. The board may need looked at. Those are probably the two most likely culprits. Hope I was able to help.

If your validator is an MEI VN series, which sounds like it could be the following is an article from our newsletter. You may not have received responses as you did not put any info as to the make and model of the coin changer and bill acceptor. I hope this helps.
TECH TIPS: MEI VN2500 Quick Troubleshooting Guide
If the bill acceptor will not accept bills, check the red diagnostic LED on
the back of the acceptor (under the bill magazine). If the LED is:
1. OFF – The bill acceptor is not receiving power – check harness connections
and vending machine fuses.
2. Flashing ONE time – remove the magazine and the lower bill path to
remove bill jam.
3. Flashing TWO times – The Vending Machine Control board has turned
off the bill validator – If the vendor operates normally using coins (try
a test vend), then the changer needs to be topped off with 10 nickels,
10 dimes and 10 quarters. This can be accomplished by using the
vendor’s “Tube Fill” mode.
4. If the vendor does not have a “Tube Fill” mode, it may be necessary to
vend product using coins until the bill acceptor is enabled by the VMC
(usually 3-10 vends).
5. Flashing THREE times – Clean the bill path.
6. Flashing FOUR times – Clean the bill path.
7. Flashing FIVE times – Make sure the bill magazine is properly seated.
Try a different bill magazine.
8. Slow, continuous fl ashing – power down vendor door, check harness
connections, power up the door. If the bill acceptor does not return to
operation, replace it with a known working acceptor.

sorry to jump in on your post with my own problem, but.... I've got a mars 24 volt dbv in a DN5592 glass-front soda machine. I've lately had a problem where the validator sporadically won't accept bills. It takes in the bill about a third of the way and then spits it back out. i've experienced this with 2 different validators in this machine. There are no diagnostic codes flashing, solid red light. Any thoughts?
