Hi,

I have a MARS Dollar Bill Acceptor that isn't getting any power to it or is defective (no lights on it). Im not sure of the pin out to test the voltage with a meter that is connected to the bill acceptor.

The coin mechanism works fine and the power to that is in the same harness (plug).

Does it sound like I have a problem with validator or power to the validator?

Any feedback is appreciated.

What kind of machine is it? Some older machines do not work well with the newer VN series MEI validators. For inastance an older AP 6000/7000 cannot support this validator like it does the Mars VFM versions. I think the 2500 series is MDB but Im not sure. If so then the age of the machine if equipped with MDB will not matter.

I measured the voltage and am receiving about 32Volts. Took the validator to the local vending machine supply house and they said it's fried.

Propably pay the 105.00 repair cost or buy a refurbished unit on ebay.

Thanks!
