I'd like to start upgrading more of my machines to accept fives. Can someone tell me how I can tell which validator models are flash capable to accept the newest currency?

Check the label that contains the model number & serial number. At the bottom of the label it will say Flash Port if it is able to be flashed.

I was hoping someone could provide a list of specific model numbers that support the upgrade. I like to buy spare validators off of eBay or CL and get them cleaned up and upgraded.

The model doesn't matter on 2500 series. Older ones were not flashable, the newer ones are. They are the same model, just newer software. If its flashport, there are three ways you can tell:

1. It may say "Flashport" in cursive writing on the model label.
2. It may say "Flashport on the rubber strip where the LED light is located.
3. With the exception of REALLY new validators, all flashport 2500s had a blue lower sensor board, instead of a green one.

One of the above, or all three will be present on a flashport validator. Depending on its age, certain identification features above may not be there.
