2 months ago I placed a single head in a small pizza place. This place is so small it's take out only so I didn't hold high hopes for it. Boy was I mistaken. When I placed this machine I put my standard 1 bag of PMM in the machine. (cost $7.88) One month later I went to service it and it was completely empty! I pulled $37.25 out of it and put in another bag, (again, cost $7.88) I asked the owner to please call me if it empties again. Well today I got the call from him, "It's empty again." He proclaimed, almost as if he were proud of it. This time I pulled $35.15 out. Yeah someone tried to feed it a dime and a nickle. I love drop through mech's. I guess it's time to consider a double head.
So to recap, **cough**todd**cough**
$72.40 - $15.76 cost = $56.64
I just dont know if this is worth it.

Wow,
that seems to be a great location. I was just curious. I did a little math and if you vend 1/2 ounce of pm&m's you should only get $28 from a 56 ounce bag. How many pieces do you vend? I figure that about 7 pieces is 1/2 ounce.

Ken,
As a rule I always open my machines all the way. I used to fiddle around with vend size and such, but after building my route so large I just started opening things up. I still make quite a bit of profit. To answer your question though the amount varies depending on the brand of machine. That particular machine is an Amerivend which has a smaller hole when set to wide than others. When I test vend, I get 5 or 6 pcs. That is smaller then I like to vend however no one has complained yet. It is the only machine in the joint though. My Seaga's generally vend 6-7 pcs wide open and my NAV's vend 7-8.

Yea, thats what I figured. My NAV's have plastic and those have the largest openings. The metal ones don't open as big.

I'm talking about the vanes. Not the wheels themselves. All my wheels are plastic. The vanes are the adjustable pieces that control the portion size. I believe some companies call it the "adjuster plate" as well.
