Outdoor machines in winter?

quick question. searched but could not find. What keeps sodas from freezing during the winter in an outdoor location? My machine says "suitable for outdoor use" on the label and I have seen plenty of machines outdoors but I was wondering if there are any special considerations.
Do they heat as well?
Thanks

Good question. I have often wondered because many 3rd party machines can be put outside. Come on guys! Who knows the answer to this?
I can tell you for sure that diet soda freezes sooner than sugar-based soda.
The freezing temp for diet soda is more like 28 degrees, maybe a little lower but not much if any. Sugar-based can go down to maybe 20 degrees, maybe a little lower, and still be okay.
These temps may be off a little, so feel free to correct me, anyone.

easy look at the schematics sometime. Most boards to date are based on a older coinco stamp. They all have to differnt outputs off the temp sensor. I know royal, some lectro snacks and even USI have this. Its an addon for heat for the evaportaor in order to control the temp. Should me marked as an option in the schematics with a dotted boarder. On non extreme conditions this is not needed. I have alot of amchines in shops, outside, and so forth taht are not effected by heat or cold and the heat gets up in the 120's here. The cold usually is only 30-40 in winter but even at 0 and lower Ive never had anything freeze over.

You need to put a heater in an outdoor machine. Check with a re-furb guy or a Dixie-Narco or Vendo distributor. Sometimes you will see them on ebay.Good question. I have often wondered because many 3rd party machines can be put outside. Come on guys! Who knows the answer to this?

Ted, would the same apply to an outdoor snack (climate controlled). I would assume yes?

I'm not really sure. I don't have any outdoor snacks so I never thought about it. It would make sense though.
