so...how bad are these Antares machines? I keep seeing them up for sale used. What combo machines do you guys like? Also how are you running your business as a Sole Proprietor or LLC

Don't know anything about the combo machines but I am curious to the responses. I just started vending in December so everything is new to me. I opened my business as a Sole Proprietor because of the ease of doing so and the small size of it. If I see that it is something that I want to jump further into, I may switch to an LLC to offer a little more personal protection.

I highly recommend becoming a LLC if your state allows it. You can do it for $100 w/o the need to pay a lawyer. Check out nolo.com.

I went with an LLC, but wish I had done an S Corp. The annual fees in my state for an LLC is $200 every year. Plus I'm not sure that I like the flow through taxation (all income of the LLC is taxable personal income). Looking back I probably should have just bought a big liability policy (which I did also) and waited to make up my mind.

FYI.... Questions like these are better answered by accountants and lawyers, so don't take my comments as advice.

If I had to have a mechanical combo then I would use a Antares. You can find them new in box for $800-1000. Don't try to use it in a location that is used to electronic machines. The people will hate it. I have some Savamco combo machines that I like (one is a MAC-32 and one is a MAC-22):
