Everyone,

Well Bass Vending Services is about a month into the game and things are coming along pretty good. Im not quite sure the actual profit that we are making yet but the revenue per week has been pretty consistant. I have 3 machines. One DN756P one AMS Sense it Snack Machine and one AMS Food and Bottle Machine. All 3 machines are located in a factory where I am a suupervisor. The factory has 3 shifts and a total of around 115 workers. The average revenue for the first month has been right at 1500.00 a week. The Food and Bottle Machine has been my biggest seller. I service this machine 6 days a week. The factory runs 7 days a week. I am selling 16.9 oz bottles along with 20oz gatorade, water, redbull and Monster Energy drinks. The problem I have is capacity with this machine. It only holds around 120 bottles. 60 of which a mountain dew. I really need something that holds more. Oh well for the time being I will just be serviceing this machine on a daily basis. In this maching I am also doing cold food. Sandwhichs from Landshire and also Sam's. This machine has MEI Coin Mech and Bill Val. I am using the CF series Coin mech that Dispenses dollar coins. This has gone over very well. My bill val accepts 1,5,10, and 20's which is great until someone thinks its a bank and puts in 200 worht of 20's and empties out all my change. Happened this morning that why I said that. Ok now for the Can machine. Very slow sales! The factory is a saw mill and the saw dust gets in the cans and I understand that but I thought that it would still have better sales than what it does. We have only serviced this machine 2 or 3 times in a month. The snack machine does good. I mean we have a large variaty of products from nutri grain bars to salami and cheese sticks. We are also doing 3 sizes of gloves and safty glasses in this machine. I dont have any hostess products in this machine everything including pastries I have been getitng from sam's. Also I have nothing in this machine over .65 which everyone likes. Anyways just wanted to let everyone know how its coming along. Anyone else want to post their revenue per location that would be awesome. Thanks again for all the help!!

I don't think you did.

I don't have any locations that size. I focus on smaller locations $800-1000 a month. I don't need any locations that require daily service. My schedule doesn't allow it. I like the $800-1000 locations because the servicing is easier and I'm not in competition with the Canteens on Aramarks. Plus this helps to keep my diversified and I don't have to jump off a cliff if I loose an account:)

If I'm understanding your post correctly, that's three machines doing $1,500 per week - wow. You must be stocking them more than once a day. I have 2 snack machines (2 different locations) that average $350 per week and have to be restocked everyday. At one of those two locations, the two soda machines I have in there average between $220 to $275 per week and they have to be restocked everyday as well.

If the continuous restocking gets to be burdensome, and I can imagine that it would at that volume, you will probably have to add a couple more machines to help ease things up a bit.

$1500.00 a month is more inline with the amount of people he has, but I could be wrong.I'd say with having everything being kept at .65 and below will keep your profit margins on the slim slide, but the good news is that you don't have the expenses(are as large of an expense issue) that a normal vending company has, so having said that, watch your bottom line, are you will be working for peanuts.

Hello everyone looks like last week was a record week for BVS. We did a little over 1900 bucks. Im not so sure it is the size of the location but more the people. I worked with this same company at a location in missouri for 4 years before coming to indiana. I knew the vending guy at the loacation in missouri and out of 17 locatiosn he had the saw mill I worked at was by far the highest revenue. Then before I took this location over that I have now. I asked the vending guy that did it and he said that the saw mill was the highest revenue location he had on his route. We only have about 100 employees but I feel it is the type of emoployees we have that make for a perfect vending location. They are mostly blue collar workers who dont care about diet and dont really care much about how they spend their money. The location is mostly men and a fairly hot environment. All this combined makes for the ideal location.

Now everything I have in the machines isnt .65 cents. However everything in my snack machine is .65. I buy all my candy chips and pastrys from sam. I do not have any hostess product and because of that I feel my profit margins are decent. I buy all my drinks from sams as well. I am selling 16.9 oz bottles for a dollar and my energy drinks such as redbull and monster for 2.00 a piece. In my cold food and bottle machine I have cold food that I buy from landshire and sams and are priced from .75 to 2.50. With all that being said I am having to fill my cold food and bottle machine everyday. This isnt the best scenerio. I have been thinking about purchasing another machine to take my bottled drinks. I need more capacity. I was thinking a glass front machine but I dont know that the extra money for one of those is worth it when I could just get a DN720p and dispense bottles just the same. Any ideas on that matter?? Well thanks again for everyones help. I would like to hear some more revenue from the other full line guys.

Thanks,

So let me get this straight, you saying that with 100 people at this location, your doing 1500 to 1900 a week?

That would be an average of $15 to $19 per week per person. I've never heard of any one single person spending that much money on vending machines in a week's time. Not saying it's impossible, but I've not seen it before. Maybe the employees are getting something out of it... like a company picnic or Christmas party of something like that.

Yes Im saying we have around 100 may be 105 or so employees on staff. Now through out the week we have different people that come into the factory such as log buyers or truck drivers that I am not counting. We also have different visitors through out the week as well. Im not counting them either. Like I said before I think the employees are the perfect fit for vending machines. If anyone has an oppurtunity to get into a saw mill do it! I lucked into it and I have been truly blessed with the revenue. One thing I wanted to clear up is that this is revenue not profit. Im thinking everyopne already got that but just wanted to make myself clear.

I am looking to get a machine for bottled soda. Right now we are filling up the bottle and food machine everyday. My plan is to try and get another machine for bottles and use the food and bottle machine just for food and limit the stocking of the machines to every other day. I am wondering if anyone has any ideas on glass front or just regular soda machines. I love the look of the glass front but I know usually you use those to get peoples attention and since they are in a factory I already have their attention and I dont think it would be work the extra money. Doesnt anyone have any input on this? I am using a DN756P right now for my cans and am thinking getting another one of them for bottles would be more profitable. Am I wrong by saying this?

Thanks again for everyones input. Keep the comments coming!!

God Bless!

If the can machine isn't doing well and you use the same type of machine for bottles why don't you just take out some of the can selections and add more bottles in those slots? I don't know anything about those types of machines but usually it's a pretty easy process to change the column so it will vend bottles. We have many machines that we are using to sell both cans and bottles.

As far as a glassfront machine goes, if your talking about the DN5000, they do look great and the customers love them but after a lot of heavy use they start needing a lot of repairs because of all the little pieces on them that start to get wore out. Your best bet may be just to get a standard bottle machine that way the only problems you really need to worry about are the coin mech, validator and compressor.

Stay away from glass fronts. They are pure junk. I don't care what anyone says about increased sales due to the robot mechanism... they are pure junk. If you get one, you will rue the day for as long as you have it. It doesn't matter who makes it. Categorically, these machines are junk. You will hate it, and your employees will hate losing their money and not getting their purchases.

I definitely agree with BVI. The machines are junk. I have a DN2145. I believe thats the model number. It is junk. Every week I have to refund a few customers. EVERY WEEK. If this account brought it a lot more money I would replace it but it only brings in about $125 a week and this account has to have both cans and bottles because one side of thier business can only have bottles in their lab and then the office side can have cans and bottles. I would never get one either. I have noticed around here that Coke has put out a lot of them lately

Yeah I have been thinking and I am going to stay away from the glass front. For one I feel that they are a lot of money for no added benifit. Like I said earlier if you had to catch someones eye to buy something from your machine then that would be a different story like in a mall or something.

Looks like We had another great week here at BVS. I dont have a grand total for you yet. I am switching Banks becuase the bank I was at didnt offer coin sorting. I thought I could do it by my self but have came to realize that its a lot more headache than I am willing to put up with. SO I am switching to a bank that does offer free coin sorting! I will let everyone know how this past week went as soon as I can hopefully some time today!

Thanks and God Bless!!

Well I just left the bank. 215.65 in coin and 1574.00 in dollar bills. pretty good week. Ran out of some of my best selling sandwhichs towards the end of the week. Prolly would have been a little better.

Thanks and Godbless!

Those are really unbelieveable numbers for one account. I hope you're getting enough profit to make it all worthwhile. Still, it is quite remarkable to say the least.
