I've been in the business for 3 years and have had numerous coin mechs break. Does anyone know the different reasons why they break so I could prevent this from happening as often? Is it something faulty with the actual mech?

Does anyone use Beaver coin mechs for their non-Beaver brand machines?

I have almost all Beaver machines and don't think you would be able to use them on a non-Beaver. Beavers are extremely reliable though!

Have you ever tried RHINO mechs ?

same beaver quality, for like a 1/3 of the price. B) it's my little vending secret :-)
A mech is like $25 :-)
